We currently offer two alternate tours available one for those who can afford more, and one for those who can afford less, without compromising on luxury and excellence.

An in depth look at the tour itinerary

The areas visited and destinations include Kwazulu Natal,Eastern Cape, Southern Cape which includes the Famous Tsitsikamma Forests and then Cape town in the Western Cape. All these are totally safe areas, and include full security at each destination. The tour provides for sufficient leisure time each day between elephant tours, during which you can laze at the poolside or relax in one of the luxury lounges of the lodges at which you will be staying.

Transported to Lesedi Lodge near Lanseria Airport.

Stay with a traditional African family on your first night, in a choice of five traditional homesteads which nestle in the African bush and where families of Pedi, Sotho, Xhosa, Zulu and Ndebele live,.

Accommodation offers every modern comfort with en-suite bathrooms. Some interesting facts of each tribal homestead are detailed for your enjoyment.

Next morning

DAY 1

Chartered flight to Mkuzi Airport. Approaching the Lubombo Mountain range, a significant ecological feature of Maputaland / Interior which has influenced the unique biodiversity of this region for millions of years and which supported the first anatomically modern man, the stunning views of the Mkuze gorge and Maputaland beyond, will stimulate much discussion for the rest of the adventure.

After alighting from the aircraft following your trip to the houseboat, lunch will be served on board the houseboat “ Shayamanzi” ( Zulu for “ Hits the Water” ) which plies Lake Jozini -- the biggest lake in this Province, completely surrounded by the Swaziland , South Africa Trans Frontier Conservation Area An afternoon and evening of Big Game Viewing from the comfort on the houseboat deck, with the chance of viewing Elephants wallowing at their favourite beaches.

Overnight in a secluded cove on board, after a scrumptious meal of wild venison and BIG FOOT hamburgers, with stories about the translocation of Elephants back to this area after the last was shot over 100 years ago.

DAY 2

Rhino viewing on day 2 and then transferred to Royal Thonga Safari lodge in Tembe Elephant Park.

Visit to a Traditional Thonga Village followed by an Elephant Safari experience..

Adventure story telling around camp Fire by Bob Preller and / or Digs Pascoe.

Overnight one night in five star accommodation..

Following day

DAY 3 / 4

Leave Magical Maputaland travelling South easterly through Isimangaliso Wetland Park via Mkhuze Game Reserve, a Ramsar World Heritage site, to Thanda Safari Tented Camp, in the Thanda / Mduna Nature Reserve. This is a Big Five Game Reserve privately owned together with the two adjoining neighbouring Traditional Authorities. This World Biodiversity Hotspot was proclaimed a National Protected Nature Reserve facilitated under the stewardship of Space for Elephants Foundation and Thanda Game Reserve in 2015.

Overnight in bush tents. Morning Game drive followed by Elephant Interaction Safari experience at Zulu Bayete in the Zululand Rhino Reserve.

Following day

DAY 5 / 6

Transported to magical Thula Thula Game Reserve

Overnight two nights in five star accommodation.
Elephant and rhino safari experience.

Following day

DAY 7 / 8

Chartered flight from Richards Bay to Port Elizabeth Airport
Collected and transported to Kariega Game Reserve. Elephant Safari experience.

Overnight two nights in five star accommodation.

Following day

DAY 9

Returned to Port Elizabeth for transfer to Elephant Park in the famous Tsitsikamma Forest in the Southern Cape.

Here you will experience and enjoy direct interaction with elephant. Overnight with the elephant in four star accommodation and experience  their interesting habits and behavior during the night hours.

If time allows we pay a visit to the elephant museum deep in the Tsitsikamma Forrest

Final Day and Night

DAY 10

Next morning, you will be transferred to George Airport for your flight to Cape Town International Airport.  ( see Cape town's Table Mountain. one of the seven wonders of the world. )

This, your final day and night, will be spent in the Cape Winelands and you will be hosted by Durbanville Hills Winery. Where you will enjoy a tour of their cellar, followed by a tutored tasting of their Rhinofields Reserve Range of wines, or a chocolate and wine pairing. This will be followed by an exquisitely prepared meal, before you are taken to your accommodation at the prestigious One&Only Resort for the night.

Note!

During the whole trip guests will be accompanied by a highly experienced and knowledgeable elephant tour guide. A portion of the income from these tours will be used by Space For Elephant Foundation to assist with the various projects SEF are involved with. (see www.spaceforelephants.com)

The balance of surplus funds will contribute to the Seismic Research on elephant communication. ( see www.silentgiants.co.za ) All expenses, flight tickets in South Africa, accommodation, meals and auto transfers and safari trips are included in tariff.
